My local Walgreens was having a 40% off sale for Wet n Wild cosmetics this past week so I could not resist picking up a few things! Although the Wet n Wild brand is relatively inexpensive, the quality of the product surpasses some of the other more expensive drugstore brands. The first items I got were the Wet n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color polishes from their new spring collection. Like I said in my previous post, I am a pretty big fan of the Wet n Wild Megalast polishes, so I was excited to try out their new spring colors! Their new collection featured very muted, pastel colors with a metallicy sheen. They’re not your typical spring colors, but pretty nonetheless. I was able to get my hands on four shades. From left to right: Champagne Toast, Valet Tag, Sophisticated Lady, and Candid Affair. I did a quick swatch of the colors on my nails and was a little disappointed with the color payoff from one coat, as I’m usually able to get away with just one coat of the megalast nail polishes. I topped each nail with another coat of polish and they came out much better. These colors would be nice to wear for a modest occasion, as they are pretty neutral spring colors. I also got my hands on one of their new Coloricon Eyeshadow Palettes in The Naked Truth. I was drawn to this palette because it had the most versatile and wearable colors, as I’m not one to rock blue or purple eyeshadows on a daily basis. The palette contains a variety of finishes from shimmery to matte. I’ve never owned a Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette before but had always heard great reviews, so I was definitely excited to see what the rave was all about. The packaging comes with a clear case and two small brushes which I probably will not use. I did a quick swatch of the colors on the back of my hand and was pretty impressed with the payoff, considering how inexpensive they are. Obviously the base and browbone shades didn’t show up as well on my fair skin, but the color payoff for the other three neutrals were pretty impressive. I also picked up Wet n Wild Single Eyeshadow in Brulee. It’s a very light nude/ultra light brown color. Because it has a matte finish, I thought this would make a nice transition color for my pale skin. I also purchased a Wet n Wild Coloricon Blusher in Pearlescent Pink. It’s a light corally pink color with fine golden glitters that aren’t too overwhelming. This was actually a repurchase for me, as I LOVE this blush and wanted to have a spare to keep at my boyfriends place. It gives the face a nice healthy glow and because of the fine glitters, I am able to get away without wearing a highlighter. The Brulee swatch looks a little white, but blends into a fleshy color. As for the Pearlescent Pink blush? It’s gorgeous!! Can’t you see?! I would highly recommend this to anyone and it really doesn’t cost much at all!
I’m looking forward to using all the products, especially trying a look with the eyeshadow palette. I have high hopes! Have you tried any other Wet n Wild palettes? Which one’s your favorite?
