A main concern and problem of mine have always been and always will be my under eye dark circles. It seems as though I’ve had this problem the second I exited my mother’s womb. Can someone say Dracula?
But nonetheless, I tried to cope with my problem and began my quest to find the perfect concealer to mask my unwanted darkness.
After seeing so many positive reviews for the Pixi Correction Concentrate in Brightening Peach, I decided to see if this would work for me. I purchased mine for $12 at my local Target.
From the Pixi website, this product claims: “Highly pigmented, this correction concealer instantly erases darkness, softens and blurs lines. Skin immediately looks fresh, rested, bright and youthful. This ultimate ‘good night’s sleep in a jar’ camouflage cream is correction perfection in a pot.”
The actual product was a lot smaller than I expected and contains 0.1oz of product. The concealer comes in a small glass container with a lime green lid. Like the name states, the corrector is a bright peach color that will help to negate any darkness under the eyes. Here’s a swatch on my fair skin.
The formula of the corrector is a little bit dry so I would definitely apply it with your finger tips, as the warmth from your finger will allow for smoother blending. Here I have applied one coat of the corrector over my dark circles:
As you can see from the before and after pictures, a lot of the darkness has been softened and do not appear as prominent. The under eyes look brighter and more awake and the product did not crease in my fine lines like most concealers do.
I wouldn’t say that this corrector hides all my dark circles, as you can still notice some discoloration under my eyes, but for a natural “barely there” makeup look, this product will definitely suffice. I think it would work as a good base for other concealers, as it does a good job at decreasing the appearance of dark under eye circles.
Overall, I would rate this a B+. It does a pretty good job of decreasing the appearance of dark under eye circles for a more natural and awake look. For those looking to mask dark circles completely, this may not be for you, or you will definitely need another concealer over it. Those with dry under eyes may want to stay away or use a very hydrating under eye cream.
If you’ve tried this product, definitely leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!
