Today I’ll be reviewing the Maybelline Dream Wonder Foundation in the shade Classic Ivory. First off, I want to say that the packaging is pretty deceiving when it comes to selecting a shade. The packaging makes the product appear darker than it actually is, but rest assured that the actual product is slightly lighter.

I was super excited to try this product because it got rave reviews. I wasn’t too pleased with the price tag of $10, especially since it comes with such little product, but decided to give it a try anyways.

The glass bottle comes with a wand like applicator that’s supposed to be a dropper, but doesn’t actually drop. The product is super liquidy, so I guess it prevents extreme spilling. For application I simply dotted the wand all over my face and then blended it out with my fingers. I found application to be a little bit of a drag because of the dropper. The coverage is super light but buildable to medium coverage. It felt pretty comfortable on my skin and set pretty quickly with a matte finish.

maybelline_dreamwonder_foundation3I found that the shade classic ivory was a bit too pink for my skin, but after two layers it helped to even out my skin tone but still provide a very natural finish in which my skin still shows through. I wore the foundation throughout the day and I found that it did not sit well with my oily/combination skin. By the end of the day I was a bit greasy in my t-zone area.

GRADE: C+

Overall the Maybelline Dream Wonder foundation is a good product for giving a natural finish while still evening out the skin tone, if you’re only going to be out for a short period of time. For my personal taste, I prefer something with a little more coverage with one layer. It’s the lazy girl in me! I wasn’t too fond of the dropper, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. And the product is kind of pricey for how much product you are actually getting. The actual deal breaker for me was the oil control, or lack thereof! My face looked like a super grease ball at the end of the day and I was totally not feeling it.

All in all this foundation is okay, but not something I would reach for everyday. I will be taking it back because of the incorrect shade and I will not be repurchasing it.
